Mass hysteria, uncontrollable crowds, lakhs of weeping mourners, reports of “spontaneous suicides” and a high-stakes political drama marked the funeral of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Friday.
The coffin made its way to the sea of people who gathered to mourn the untimely death of their leader while national leaders lined up to pay homage to the Congress leader.
YSR died in a chopper crash that took place on Wednesday, Sep 2 morning. His body along with those of four others was only recovered on Thursday, Sep 3 from a hilltop in the dense Nallamalla forests of Kurnool.
